Bunkhouse for tall person

We had a keystone passport 32fb. Loved the trailer but a tree fell on it 6 months ago so now we are on the hunt for another trailer. When we bought that trailer we thought we were going to have more kids and wanted a bigger trailer. The main selling factor was the rear transverse bed queen bed. With the slide out we had 3'+ at the foot of the bed and 2' beside the bed. They don't make the trailer anymore so we are looking for something different and a bit smaller.

I am 6'6" tall so foot room at the end of the queen and headroom are important. We are looking for a 26-30' double bunk trailer with a full size queen bed that has at least 2' all the way around it and some kind of hard wall partition between the bed and main living area.

Something like this:

But with a walk around full queen bed.

  • Forest River offers a couple of V-front TT's with the transverse queen in the back and the bunkhouse in the front. The rear bed area is separated from the rest of the space by the bathroom and there is plenty of walk-around space in the bedroom thanks to the slide-out. The Rockwood Windjammer 3006WK and the Flagstaff V-Lite 30WTBSK offer nearly identical bunkhouse floor pans with these options. You'd have to swap out the mattress for an 80" length as both come stock as 74".
  • If you get a toyhauler , then that gives you an excuse to buy a toy for the empty space .
  • You know, the more I think about it, the more I think I'd like a toy hauler, even though I don't have any toys. I like the separate room for guests sleeping, plus having a "patio" area to hang out in. Would be great for holding a canoe and other stuff I wouldn't want in my main trailer area.

FWIW, I'm 6'3" and our Bullet Premier has a queen bed with 2ft of space all around. I'd prefer to have a longer mattress to help support the end of my legs/feet, but that would cut into the space at the foot of the bed to get by. Not sure if the Bullet line has a Bunkhouse, but that may be a good option. They also have vaulted ceilings, which has resulted in me cracking my head a lot less than in my old trailer.
  • Buddy of mine is 6ft 7 . He bought a toy hauler because it was taller inside .
