I need to replace my current microwave. I having a hard time finding the same size so that I can use the old trim piece. I've found several microwave's that will serve it's purpose. But the ones I've found are smaller than the current one. How would I go about securing in and what to do with the extra space?

I also had to install a smaller microwave. Found one at Costco that would work.I removed the old one, saw how Fleetwood installed a trim peice to the top with some screws, and that trip is held onto the motorhome cabinet with more screws. Mine is about 2" skinnier, and I now have a 2" gap to the left of the microwave, sort of a small storage area now.Fred.

Have you checked out Advent microwave units available at Amazon.com? They have them with/without trim kits. I can't say much about Advent units except that I have one in my new Winnebago 2201DS. It works well and seems to be as good as other units I've had, but only time will tell!

I went to WM with my measurements and got three units. Went home and tried out each one till I found the best one. Made my own trim kit.

I took my trim off and took it shopping with me. Put it over each store model until I found the one that fit. (Kinda like Cinderella!) That's the one I bought.

Have you checked out Advent microwave units available at Amazon.com? They have them with/without trim kits. I can't say much about Advent units except that I have one in my new Winnebago 2201DS. It works well and seems to be as good as other units I've had, but only time will tell!
