Buying a Travel Trailer with Bitcon

First I have heard of this
Buy a caravan with Bitcoinswords - Chris FinchamMajor Adelaide dealer now accepting cryptocurrency instead of cash when buying a van

Got a few spare Bitcoins burning a hole in your digital wallet?

One of Australia’s biggest caravan dealerships, Camperagent, is now accepting Bitcoins as payment on a new or used caravan or motorhome.

Camperagent marketing/media manager Steve Middleton, said he believes it’s a first for the Australian caravan industry to accept payment by the hot new cryptocurrency, which is essentially a decentralized digital currency that cuts banks and other traditional finance institutions out of day-to-day transactions.

“We are officially claiming to be the first caravan yard to accept it as a currency,” he said. “We don’t think that everyone is going to start coming to our yard and spending all their Bitcoins here, but it’s now available as a currency in anticipation of it becoming as popular as they think it will.”

Middleton said the acceptance of Bitcoins follows other ‘future-ready’ initiatives by Camperagent, which include early adoption of Australia’s first Tesla electric tow vehicle and introducing the latest auto dealership-like customer service and service/repair facilities.

“We always like to be as future-ready as a company as we can,” he said. “No doubt it is a bit of a marketing stunt, but it just shows people we are at the forefront of technology and innovation.”

He said paying by Bitcoins is “technically better than a bank as they can literally be standing in our yard, and if they have the Bitcoin wallet on their phone they can scan a QR code, transfer the money and it will be there in 15 seconds instead of two or three days. The fees are minimal and it’s very quick – there’s no middle man.”

While there’s growing acceptance of digital currencies particularly among smaller, high cash-flow businesses, Middleton believes there are few if any car dealers down under and just three other RV dealerships in the world that accept Bitcoins.

Meanwhile, Camperagent’s new manufacturing and sales facility in Melbourne for its in-house Hitch Hika caravan brand is now up and running.

The Adelaide yard is also currently offering substantial savings of up to $6000 on its last remaining stock of Coromal and Windsor caravans. The multi-franchise dealer is no longer an official agent for Coromal/ Windsor and Goldstream, and has replaced them with the Golden Eagle and Paramount brands.
