I though it was supposed to be an option for 2015 or for the revamp of the model line coming up but could be wrong.

The 6.4 Hemi has a RPM limit in first gear. So if your climbing a hill and down shift, it will not start out at max RPM like most trucks do. This makes the 6.4 performance suffer when compared to the competition.
One thing Dodge has going for it is the interior. I like it a lot better than the GM rigs.

Actually, that RPM limit has never kicked in for me in normal towing. I theorize that is only kicks in at high altitude, but who knows. Mine will rev to high RPM when towing. I have posted videos on YouTube of 0-60 testing towing 14k where this can be seen. It goes right to redline. I have also had it downshift to 1st on twisty mountain switchbacks when towing, and it didn't limit RPM in first.

My buddy has a 2014 and he says the same thing, guess they have fixed that! :) Good thing. I froze my butt off in my 2002 and my 2007 - except when we took it on road trips. After 20-30 min at highway speed it would warm up.

I think these guys forget our temperatures!! City driving in -20C the needle won't budge off cold, even with an expensive winter front. I have a short commute of 10km in stop and go traffic, I pretty much hate my truck from November/December to March (I now use a cheap, used commuter car). I wonder how the new diesels heat up in our weather IB. I concur about the highway driving road trips, that was the only time the old barrel of hammers would warm up. Last Christmas, we had a cold snap of -38C, the cab of the truck was pretty chilly.

Yeah, I here ya. My 2005 is the same way. It won't get warm sitting still either. It is a lot better now that I have an idle up feature on it but in your temps it still probably wouldn't. It will actually cool off after running at full temp and then stop an idle.

My 2013 warms up great and stays warm but then again we don't see your temps. We only get to around 0* F but even that is rare.

If it wasn't for the constant shifting and high RPM I would be in a gas too.

I'm just keep hoping that Global Warming kicks in. Won't take as long to warm up in the winter:)

I think you made a good choice. In fact everyone that researches the options and makes a decision based on their actual needs made a good choice. For me it was a Ford 6.8L V-10. After 5+ years I am still very happy with the performance.

Yes I don't blame you. The V10 after 05 was a stout power plant.

Agreed. The Cummins did less downshifting for sure. But, I actually don't mind the odd dip into the high RPM powerband, especially now that I added a mild"ish" Magnaflow exhaust to the mix, I kind of enjoy the sound.
