The cables move it in and out but do the weight bearing pieces need lubrication? I don't know your slide system but maybe you can determine what is making the noise by having someone operate the slide while you get your ears & eyes closer to the noise. My slide has squeegee type seals that remove debris & moisture from the top & sides as it moves. Could these be the source of the noise? I use Aerospace 303 protectant to make the wall slicker and reduce the squeegee friction.
