Calculated tow capability... Disappointed
So, in my search for the TT that the wife and I want, I've been diligently trying to calculate GVWR, GAWR, Traier capacity etc.. etc...I've read quite a bit, and I thought I would be okay with my tow ...

don't feel to bad. Even 3/4 tons are suprisingly well below the quoted capability of makers ads. who buys the base model truck std cab, gas engine, short box 2wd for towing? A few, but add 4wd, crew cab, diesel, high end trim package and CCC goes down in a hurry.
As an example, my 2004 3/4 ton duramax CC/SB/4x4 9200GVWR had a CCC of 2200lbs. Went to a 2015 same vehicle configuration, GVWR10,000 lbs. did I gain 800lbs CCC NOPE!!!! I gained a whopping 200lbs. empty weight went up close to 600lbs!!!
