So, in my search for the TT that the wife and I want, I've been diligently trying to calculate GVWR, GAWR, Traier capacity etc.. etc...I've read quite a bit, and I thought I would be okay with my tow ...

Reality Ben, half tons only go to 6000 lbs. Light duty 3/4 or DOT class 2 trucks are from 6001-8400 lbs. He 3/4 or DOT class hd2's are from 8401-10,000.
So even some 1 tons are really 3/4 tons, many half's are 3/4 tons.......
Folks should go by dot classification, or just use gvwr be it a reduced sum of axle totals, or the sum as I would prefer it to be.
