You've got a lot of good advice. And yep, those plugs are toast! I'm running NGK's in the standard heat range gaped to factory spec. Cutting the electrode certainly is cool and has proven to show some gains. If you go to that much trouble, index them as well. That is, install them so the electrode is not shadowing the intake vale ie. the "open" gap is pointed toward the valve. I used to go to that trouble but, no longer practice that on these stock engines. Too time consuming.
As for coil packs and wires, I feel the after-market has more cost effective replacements. Check Summit Racing.(no affiliation)
