Thanks guys this is really good info. I use anti-seize from a tube, so no brush or stirring. It's silver in color, and I use about small blob (maybe half a pea) and wipe it with my finger around the lower part of the threads. It should do as Ben says and work its way up the threads as the plug threads in.
Maybe the Arco gas story held water in the 70's and earlier when cars had carbs, but agree with T&P that the ECM is going to set the idle speed at whatever it's set at regardless of how much gas it needs. If the gas is **** it will just richen the mixture so the engine runs within parameters.
I'll pull the plugs again over the summer and post back. Meanwhile, I'm glad I got the 4WD running right before the big nor'easter!
