There is no PCV valve in the system because they don't need one. If they do away with the valve they do away with the money it costs for the part.
This system works by "essentially" making a controlled vacuum leak into the intake system from the block. Really a pretty cool design.
One more time: Big blocks BURN OIL! For a bunch of reasons I don't want to get into here but one of the biggest is guide head design and the short piston skirt design they have on the 8.1.
There is nothing wrong with the OP engine!!! How can I say this with such confidence?
BEACUSE:One more time: Chevy won't do anything under warrantee unless it burns over 1qt to 500 miles. Again, this is with a brand new engine!

Please don't tell the OP that he has a intake leak like the TSB talks about and jump on that deal. Why? See above!
