Agree, stupid is as stupid does. But that kid would have probably killed himself in a prius too....
Not knowing the whole situation, it's speculation only, but not all kids (or parents) are that dumb. My 16y/o is driving a Mustang GT. It's slower that the car we gave him for his birthday.... But yes he is responsible and a better driver than the average "adult" around here. I wouldn't have approved of it if he wasn't. But he's been driving or operating anything with a steering wheel or handlebars starting at about age 8, gets straight As, has 2 jobs and is going to junior college next year as a junior in high school, while palying rep soccer. Now if I could just get him to change his own oil, he'd be the perfect kid! lol

Insurance isn't that bad actually. About $50 a month more for the GT or the old SRT8 compared to an average car. It's a 2006 though. Ins wanted his first born to insure him on a new SRT8. Oh well, he doesn't get to drive it unless he's driving me home with a belly full of Crown Royal!
