My 2002 F250 and 2000 Lance 1010 were the same way. The camper was about 1" higher in the front. If I recall it was my camper design. You could lay a board across your rails and measure the depth of your bed to see the difference from front to rear.
I have to ask, the camper is not hung up anywhere is it, keeping it from coming down in the front? Do you have a huge gap between the cab and bed overhang?
