Camping at 25F w/ full hookups and no protection under TT

So we're planning an early start for the season. Record low for the place we're going at the end of March is 25F (average low is 39F - Ocean Shores, WA). Say it gets to 25F can my TT survive it if I have heater on and empty tanks (or tanks with anti-freeze)? Pipes will have water from the hookups.
  • We regularly camp at that temp and have never had a problem but we use water in the tank.
  • No, nothing is enclosed (except the ones that are inside the trailer of course).

I think I can keep some anti-freeze in the tanks. I'm worried about the pipes.

Yes, it is rare to get to 25F at Ocean Shores though it happened at least once :)

Maybe I can let the faucets dripping a little bit?
  • 25 should not be a big issue while in use. I would not bother with antifreeze in the waste tanks.

Fresh water hose may freeze so fill the on board tank about half and bring the hose in. Check your propane before the refill place closes.

And yes I have exposed tanks and have survived just fine in similar situation. Although I have since added heaters and such to camp down close to zero and maybe a little lower as our snow cabin.
  • We always filled our fresh tank about 3/4s full and unhooked from any water supply. 50 gallons takes a very long time to freeze (and the tank has room for the expansion) and unhooking kept the supply hose and check valve from freezing.
  • I think I'd worry more about the water from the hookup freezing before the tanks. At least in the tanks you have some room for expansion before the tank busts. With the hookups, you'll have water in exposed hoses from the RV to the hookup. That will most likely freeze before anything in your tanks.
  • We hunt in eastern Washington and it gets that cold or colder and have never had an issue freezing up. Leave doors open at night to let heat circulate. I doubt your gonna see 25 degree weather in ocean shores though.
