I know I am way early... but I'm making reservations for camping over Halloween weekend. Our local state park has this event for the last couple of years. This will be the first year we have been able to do it. Basically, all campers decorate their campsites and hand out candy for Halloween. Does anyone know of any good webpages to find ideas on decorating? OR have any ideas themselves? I have no imagination to come up with ideas myself other than going out and buying them big blow up decorations that light up. I don't want to do that.

You could start simply by getting a Halloween themed tablecloth and maybe some pumpkin tacky lights. You're right about it being early, but some place like Hobby Lobby starts putting their Halloween things out shortly after the July 4th things are cleared out. Lots of places online to find holiday tacky lights. Holiday paper plates and napkins, costumes, etc. The inflatable decorations are fun, but remember that if it pours down rain all weekend, you'll have a bunch of dollars invested in something that you may or may not be able to use. Do some decorating things inside your trailer, maybe the spider web stuff and use the purple/black/orange lightbulbs wherever you can.....another trip to Hobby Lobby. Halloween movies. Spend some time carving pumpkins. Buy some of the slice and bake sugar cookies and let the kids decorate them. Sounds like a fun time and the state parks and others do a great job. Enjoy!

I just bring along all my home exterior decorations. not a lot but just enough. I`ve seen people that go all out. one of these years I`m going to do that. for now just enough is perfect. Love seeing everyone`s campsites.

We regularly visited a CG that also did the Halloween weekends (and typically multiple weekends) when our kids were small. We saw rigs and sites that were decorated to the hilt and as elaborate as any decorations you'd see on a sticks & bricks. By far the funniest was the camper who had a "mannequin" reclining in a chair by the road. Now sometimes when a resident could not be on site for trick or treat, a bowl of candy was left out for the visitors. This was the case with the mannequin HOWEVER said mannequin was very much alive and would suddenly come to life as an unsuspecting customer reached for candy. Never with the little ones, though, just the smart-alec older kids and the adults with a sense of humor.........!!!!

We did a Halloween campout this past fall for the first time ever - happened to be our first trip out with our first TT. We had no idea what we where in for!(in a good way!) The CG was full of people there for the Halloween activities - kids had trick-or-treating at a designated time, all ages costume party Sat night with prizes, night time hay rides and decorations everywhere. The decorations on campsites where as little as having a plastic Jack-O-Lantern all the way up to one guy who had filled his site with a sort of scale model of a scary amusement park full of zombies sort of scene with rides moving and all lit up and scary music.

Number 1....it is NEVER too early to think about Halloween!!! (Notice my forum name)I do a haunt at my house ever year to raise money for the Children's Wish.I build a 20x25 structure in my backyard and full graveyard in the front. I'll post some ideas later.
