Thank you. Perhaps its the old style fillament, or the fact that the mason jar really diffuses the light, but it is actually a very low and understated glow. To be honest, I am a little disappointed as the light doesn't illuminate the sign as I hoped it would. But again, it's umderstated and I would never go brighter. I would also be discerning as to what campgrounds we light it up in. The last campground each site had it's own lightpost already, probably 60-75w. And almost every campground we go to everyone leaves their hookups service light on, another 60 watt light. Again, why we chose only 40w, just a glow. But we are always cognizant of our neighbors.
