Yes, this is Mojave Narrows. We have camped there every year (we happen to like the trains) so it was a bummer to have this problem. It is not so easy to find a campground this close to the tracks (for obvious reasons) which is why we are persisting. Also, the fishing is good and we enjoy the desert and exploring the more remote areas out there. I have discussed this with my son, because we thought about moving to another part of the campground etc. but we are going to give this another shot and see if taking some of the steps offered here make it better.
My plan is to minimize "stealable" stuff, which is clearly going to help. Since the driveway alarm mentioned here is so cheap I think it is worth a try. I will add lighting that I can activate from inside the trailer, and I plan to call the sheriff to ask for additional perimeter patrols overnight as a further deterrent (they sometimes accommodate requests like that). Lastly, since dashcams are so cheap I think I will add that to a trailer window. I can't monitor it in real time but it will document when the anti-personnel mines go off.
If the problem persists or I get really uncomfortable, that will be the end of that. I mean, I had a lantern and a propane canister stolen by a homeless guy, and I'm not ready to surrender due to that. I appreciate the feedback, and I will post my results.
