That changed this year
when a few items were pilfered overnight from our county-run campsite in Victorville, CA. This is a rural desert area, but a nice place in the winter when we go. There are no rangers, etc. at the campground overnight. There is now a transient population that is nearby, and they "raided" several sites near
the border of the campground, stealing things like lanterns, coolers, and propane canisters. Mostly stuff homeless people would use.
You state yourself that the
security has 'changed' at this CG.
Transient, homeless are most likely also druggies. They are not stealing for their own use they are stealing it to sell for drugs.
People on drugs act irrationally and dangerously if confronted. What if you or a family member stepped out of your RV and right smack into one of these thugs?
WHY on earth would you put 'your entire family' in danger when you you could simply move to another SAFE CG. ?
Yup, I am bound and determined.
I am a little surprised at the number of people telling me to just give it up and get out of there. .....
Bound and determined to stay in a CG that now has dangerous transient, homeless and most likely druggies camped out near it where you are parked??? And for the entire winter no less? I think you are missing the whole point of RV'ing.
X10 on moving to a safe CG. At the very least for the safety of your family.
