Can’t decide which vehicle would be best for my situation

A family of 5, all adult sized will put a Tahoe at gvwr before hooking up the trailer. So while a couple may be able to tow the trailer with in limits, a family like you or I with 6, can not. As such, you will need a rig with a minimum of of 2000-2500 lbs, to handle everything! As such, you will need to step up to a gas 2500 or diesel 3500 sw rig. I would suspect, a lightly loaded interior, shortbox diesel 2500 should work too! Especially if it comes with a factory 9900 gvwr!
