Some one suggested registering the OPs vehicle at a higher gross weight. The OP is from Oklahoma and we do not/can not register our non commercial vehicle at any weight or class.
oklahoma registration
MV: Noncommercial Vehicle Registration
Noncommercial registration rates apply to automobiles; noncommercial and non agricultural trucks; travel trailers and motor homes.
Noncommercial vehicles are registered on the basis of their year of registration, as follows:
1st through 4th year of registration......................$91.00
5th through 8th year of registration......................$81.00
9th through 12th year of registration.....................$61.00
13th through 16th year of registration....................$41.00
17th year of registration and over........................$21.00
*******************************************************
The OP sure doesn't need a one ton anything to tow a 6500-7000 lb TT unless he just wants one.
For a daily driver and a 6500 lb TT a proper 1/2 ton with a tow package would work a hell of a lot better for his use than a 3/4 ot one ton truck.
For his commute Fords 3.5 Ecoboost could net him over 20 mpg day after day. Now add one of Fords F150 higher rated 7850-7500 gvwr packages and 4500-4800 rawr their good for 2000-2500 lb in the bed payloads.
GM twins with the 5.3 engine 8 speed tranny NHT tow package has a 7600 gvwr and 4300 rawr good for 2000 lb payloads.
