CAn a jump starter, like the one/link i posted below, power a trailer slide out? My deep cycle batteries are not good anymore.

Brakes r fine. they work even if it has no batteries. i've tested them.
  • Why mess around? Pick up a cheap battery at Wal-Mart. Almost any car battery will work unless you intend to deep cycle it.

You need to get new battery. Trailer brakeaway emergency brakes depend on it as well as other stuff.
it's pretty expensive. i'd buy them soon or later though.

Are you TOWING the trailer on public roads without a battery?

    I hope not.

No working battery means your emergency break away system will not function..

Every state requires a functioning break away system if your trailer is equipped with electric brakes..

If you can afford to buy a "jump start" unit, you CAN afford to at least buy a group 24 battery or heck even a lawn and garden tractor battery.. On utility trailers the break away systems use a $20 5 Ahr or a bit larger gel cell..

Fines will be far more costly than a new battery and other motorists lives are at risk..
  • If the jump starter has enough capacity, it will work. I've seen the dealer sales people use these on trailers on the lot, to operate the slides, and FW landing gear.

  • What i do currently is use jumper cables connected to the batteries of my RAM 2500 to connect to the terminals of my old not working deepcycle batteries of my trailer.

I cant use the 7 pin connecter coz it always blows up my truck tow fuse. Bypassing the fuse using the jumper cables always works all the time.

But what if i use a jumpstarter like the PEAK jumpstarter? Would it work too?
