Can anyone tell me what kind of connection this is?
Can anyone tell me the name of this connection. I think it's a exterior speaker connection. If so what's the name so I can find a speaker that works. I've had no luck.

In this day and age there is. The RCA plug is only commonly used for connections on the back of component systems anymore, and there isn't a whole lot of that going on either, with HDMI taking over the lion's share of home theater connectivity.
You said it yourself. Those headphones are 40 years old, and probably older. Find a new set in a store right now. Nearly all headphones come with the 3.5mm stereo plug.
