The fundamental problem is how much it can pull vs how much it can lift.
A 10,000lb trailer is going to have a 1200-1500lb hitch weight. Put a few people in the truck and some stuff in the bed, and you will likely be way over the cargo rating.
Unfortunately, you made a mistake and it's going to cost you. You have 3 options:
- Pull too much trailer and be at risk of accidents and damaging the truck.
- Buy a significantly smaller trailer.
- Trade in the new truck for a more capable truck.
