Even a 6000lb trailer is pretty marginal. with a 995lb payload.
300lb combined for husband and wife, leaves only 695lb for tongue weight with no kids and nothing else in truck AT ALL. Assuming 12% TW, that only works out to about 5800lb fully loaded. A family of 4 with a couple hundred lbs of gear in the truck...and you may be over with a pop up.
It's probably not the end of the world but it's over the limits at 6000lb.
