I think people are a little too severe in their characterization of the Ram 1500, mostly because it will likely list a very low payload the way you bought it. If you're not interested in diving in and learning how to manage the numbers in detail, go by the door sticker to be safe. Bear in mind that the tongue weight really needs to be between 10 - 15% of total trailer weight. The closer to 15% the better. Regardless of weight, I think I would stay under 30' too. My Ram 1500 pulls my 24', 6200 lb travel trailer like a rock star. JMHO
