My 2008 CrewMax 5.7 with the tow package, is rated for 10,400 lbs, with a max 1,385. I’ve added the TRD sway bar, bilstein shocks and Firestone Air Bags. I tow the below trailer which has a 6,700 lbs weight with full propane tanks and 650 lbs hitch weight. My guess is I’m right around 8,000 lbs towing, and 800+ on the hitch and although I believe I’m within all limits I would never go any heavier. NEVER!
The Dodge 1500 by all counts is below my truck (excluding the latest 1500), so for you to be considering heavier than my setup is simply not the way to go.
