The tow rating doesn’t mean much and is the last number you should be concerned with. With 1/2 ton trucks you will far exceed many other ratings (payload, tire, axle) before reaching the tow rating. To keep it simple, for a trailer of 8k plus you really should be looking at 3/4 ton trucks. If you are not willing to get a heavier duty truck find a trailer that is under 8k LOADED, ie 6500lbs max dry weight, and even that might be pushing it depending on what you carry in the truck.
A Rebel is not the solution. Even though it has a higher tow rating it is a worse tow vehicle. It is built with a soft suspension and tires for off-road use which is not ideal for towing.
I towed the trailer in my sig with a 1/2 for 2 years. It’s much smaller and lighter than what you’re looking at (34’ and 7600lbs loaded). We were over gvwr by 400lbs and at max on axle rating. I added e rated tires, airbags, and use a $3k hitch to improve towing but it was still less than a comfortable experience.
