- I had a similar truck, previous body style to that one.
The 454 wasn't stroked but it was punched out 30 over, balanced, blueprinted and built to race specs. Just under 11:1 so I could run street gas. Pinged on premium.... Went like Jack the bear!!!
I towed with mine, went like a bat out of a hot place, from gas station to gas station.... I could pass everything except the gas station! :B
Yeah it was thirsty, real thirsty. Step on the gas and it was like flushing a toilet! Stuff my foot into it and could almost watch the gas gauge go down. Think I got a bout 5.7 MPG with it. (Imperial) Towing? Well, mileage suffered there too....
Don't imagine this one will be much different. Buy it anyways and have some fun! Relive your youth! :B - jake2250ExplorerYes you sure can,, Just bolt a hitch to the frame,, throw a bumper back there,, wire up some trailer lights and let Granny ride on her rocking chair in the back!
Probably gonna want to ditch those tiny mirrors for something you can see what your towing with,,,but yeah,, its a truck, you can tow with it! - gboppExplorerYou can tow but, only a 1/4 mile at a time.
- romoreExplorer III was thinking the same thing. It would be fun on a Saturday night cruise and occasional midnight drag (ooops, did I say that?)but not very practical as a long distance tow vehicle.
- TakingThe5thExplorerOnly as far as the next gas station. Don't pass go or you'll go no more,
- Me_AgainExplorer IIIProbably want to strengthen the trailers hitch and A-Frame so you do not pull it out. Chris
- ib516Explorer III say NO way! There's no hitch on it.
- LwiddisExplorer IIPlenty of power. What’s the payload?
- HelimechExplorerSure you can tow with it, but tow WHAT?
