Actually, I pulled the same weight trailer with my old 2007 Tundra 5.7. It pulled it OK but you're better off with the 2500 Ram.

The Trailer in my sig is what I'm referring to and It's about 8500 lbs fully loaded and 35 ft long. I pulled it with my Tundra for about 2 years. The Tundra will do it but the Ram will be the better choice. The 2500 will give you more options for the future too.
