Can trailer tires be patched?

I have a set of goodyear endurance tires on my TT and one of them has a nail in the tread about an inch in from the sidewall. The tire is only 2 years old. Can I take it to a shop and have it patched from the inside like I've done with car tires? Is this safe? Thanks.

  • Yeah, do not accept a "plug" as the higher pressure in ST tires tends to force the plug out.
  • ask them how they patch. fords way is the best, done hundreds of them back in the good old days .
  • Yes, Like dodge Guy stated it is ok to patch as long as it’s done proper..

I always liked to use the patch/plug (umbrella patch) from the inside…..
