Can you overload a dually?
Obviously you can!! Sheared the frame at the front leaf spring mounts!! The tongue extension on the trailer just made things worse!! Mark

With a 3975 lb dry weight to start plus however much junk was loaded in it for the truck camper and then whatever the tongue weight of the trailer, I'm thinking it was probably way overloaded. Then toss in road salt for those Washington winters and Washington's buck board interstates. If it was set up for a traveling business, probably a whole lotta miles loaded like this with, as BenK says, harmonic vibrations and the result is evident.
