Can you tell from sticker if it has max tow package

When looking at a sticker can you tell if it has the max tow package?

Here is a link to the stickerF150 Sticker

We don't want to go look if it does not have it and sometimes we know more than the salesman. :R

I don't think this one does but want to be sure.

If you see a F150 and you look inside and it has an integrated brake controller does that mean it does?

Looked at a F150 Ecoboost yesterday that the dealer said had max tow package. It had the brake controller when looking at the sticker on the door it said 7700lbs but there was another sticker that said cargo including people and accessories and anything put in the vehicle can not exceed 1134lbs. The salesman told us that the 1134 cargo limit did not include the trailer hitch weight that this figure was only the amount of weight in the vehicle.

We are continuing to look for a F250 in our price range so we might have to include the F150 in our search.

  • You cannot get a F-150 with the 5.0 V8 equipped with the max tow option. That is only available with the ecoboost and 6.2 V8. I say hold out for the F-250 and maybe check out a XLT instead of a Lariat. I love my Lariat, but i would trade for the right F-250 XLT if I could.
  • what does this tell me? This is from a 2011 Ford F-150 2WD SuperCrew 145" Lariat Limited with the 6.2L

Curb Weight - Rear (lbs): 2576
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Cap (lbs): 7250
Gross Combined Wt Rating (lbs): 13500
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. (lbs): 5000
Dead Weight Hitch - Max Tongue Wt. (lbs): 500
Wt Distributing Hitch - Max Trailer Wt. (lbs): 7500

I know the F250 will work for us but our budget is around 40,000 and finding a F250 in that range is like finding a needle in a haystack.

So we are looking at the F150 as we are not upgrading the trailer anytime soon. But I know what we need just wished they would clearly put in on the sticker.

So the ecoboost that we say yesterday that had 7700 on it with 1134 cargo weight had the max tow package most likely??? :?
  • No, it has a trailer tow package, but NOT the max tow package. One give away is the 4 pin light connector, not the 7 pin connector, plus the label clearly states tow package. Typical vehicle salesman, his lips were moving so it had to be a lie.
  • I can't answer your specific questions but I just built an F-150 6.2L CC 4x4 with a 3.73 in a lariat package for the same price as a F-250.

If it was me I'd get the F-250 especially if you're interested in the max tow.

In any event I'd imagine you'll have a hard time finding a max tow F-150 this time of year while a F-250 will have more options.
  • No because your GVW is #7200. Maxtow will be around 7650-7700 IIRC.
