Can you use your camper with the slideout not out?

Been thinking about getting a slide in camper for occasions when our 5th wheel is just too much. Been wondering about tight spots like truck stops and the like - can you use your unit with the slide in?

I suspect the answer is some yes, some no.

    My AF990 is usable with the slide in. Getting in and/or getting to the bathroom is possible but is tight. Everything else except the long storage compartment along the front of the dinette is no problem. In fact we have used the camper in -18 F temps and chose to keep the slide in.
