If it only happens when it's open and raining and gusty, then another possibility is the wiper seals.
If either side wiper seal is weak, rain might be forced by it and drain down to the interior.
And on ours, there's gap between the outer side wiper seal and outer bottom wiper seal at the two bottom corners. Even though the side wiper extends below the bottom wiper by a couple of inches, in extremely gusty rain, water can get up in there and wet the carpet.
EDIT: but these leaks will wet the interior of the main shell, not the interior of the slide itself. So maybe they are not what's happening in this case.
