Now here we are. 2 kids, one off to college next year and one in high school.
Wife has been battling heart problems for the last dozen years. (I don’t ever really tell people this). Like as many surgeries as the number of years.
So on one hand, I try to be frugal and follow in my parent’s footsteps and it has helped us be as financially solvent as we are, but on the other, we’re doing everything we can for our kids while still making them understand money don’t grow on trees.
Toughest part is my career is long hours. Always has been and always will be.
Not ideal, but it pays the ,now, millions in medical bills with great insurance and enough salary that we can live good off of just my income.
If not for my sisters bullchit and the wife’s health, we could have retired easily here when the younger boy graduates high school. With the big 5 0 coming up next year woulda been sweet. But instead we got a bigger camper so we can live it up!
