I just purchased a hand pump to hook to the city water hookup. A question...why couldn't I just hook that same hand up to the intake on the pump to get antifreeze in the pump ? So what I am basically saying is a two step method...
1) Pump antifreeze in the city water hookup till it comes out my shower, toilet and one sink. (that's all I have in my very small trailer)
2) Pump a small amount into the water pump so it is protected too.
Would this work ?
Yes, however, IF you can pump it thru the pump to the sink, shower, and toilite. You don't have to go thru the city water with it.
In my case, I cannot get to the inlet side of the pump because of where it is mounted. So I'm going thru the city water this year. I pumped thru the pump from the fresh tank last year, and haven't ran any water thru it, so I don't need to winterize the pump this year. Going thru the city water is all I'll need.
