that sort of defeats the reason to buy a pickup in the first place. might as well have an SUV if you have to rent a trailer every time you wanted to move something serious.

I bought my truck to haul my travel trailer and my outdoor camping gear mostly and any long stuff that would not fit in my other vehicles. I have never needed to put anything in my bed that would not fit with the cap since 2001.
I did haul a partially assembled swing set with fort and slide but that would not have fit in the bed anyway. It took the biggest flatbed trailer U Haul had to carry that.
