- exhaustipatedExplorerRight after the Texas Truck Camper Rally was over with on April 12th we headed our rig towards Palo Duro Canyon and stayed at the Hackberry campground for three days. It's so flat along the panhandle of Texas and when you get to the canyon it seems as though the bottom fell out. The canyon is so beautiful at that time of year and has so many hiking trails to explore especially the Lighthouse Trail which is a six mile roundtrip adventure that you don't want to miss. At the campground we stayed at there were deer and turkeys galore and would almost come right up to you since they were not afraid of the many campers out there.
- sremsingExplorerWe have stayed at Palo Duro Canyon, and it is beautiful. Seems like it could be tough to leave if you got a lot of rain while camped in canyon. Lucky for us it never rained.
- TexasShadowExplorer IIthat's pretty country for camping and caprock seems to get overlooked so it's not so busy.
- jefe_4x4ExplorerNice pix of a locale that I've not been to. Texas was in a drought and has made a miraculous recovery to near normal these last weeks of torrential rains. You were there at a good time. Not so hot; greened up before summer; not so many folks around. All good stuff.
jefe - NaioExplorer IIThanks for introducing me to this area!
