Carbon monoxide sensor

Our carbon monoxide detector has been going off in the middle of the night. We have located no leaks from the outside of the trailer. Do we assume there is a propane leak on the inside or could the sensor be bad? We purchased the trailer in 2011 and the detector says replace by 2015. Is this an accurate replacement date? Also, is this something we can fix or should we take it to the dealership?
  • Yes, replace those units every 7 years approx. Nothing to fool around with!!
  • mine was doing it as well,it was the internal battery running out of juice

    Replace it.

Many if not most CO detectors used in RVs these days are combination LP/CO detectors that are powered by the trailer's 12 vdc system ... get the make / model of unit you have and ask your local RV dealer's parts department for a suitable replacement. Some are surface mount, others are flush mount.
