WOW! Thanks for all of the unexpected interest in my post.
1- I'm a 70-year-old, strapping 6 foot, 235 lbs of rippling muscle man. :)
2- The Jerry can hanger I've got is a very sturdy gizmo that can be bolted to the floor or to a wall (or bumper)and is lockable. My intention was to bolt it to the rear wall of my TT. I was planning to mount it several feet above the bumper level(Fun Finder X 189's don't have a rear bumper).
3- I've ordered a NATO (-like?) Jerry can with a removable, locking spout. Although I would have liked to have purchased, I couldn't afford the $100+ price of the regulation military/official NATO Jerry cans.BTW, it's military GREEN.
4- I doubt that the added weight on my TT's right side rear end will have much effect on my TT's balance/tongue weight because I've already removed the curbside drop-down table and bench seats that the TT came with in order to open up the small amount of moving-around space this TT had. We use drop-down tables and folding chairs for eating and I use a fold-up chaise to sleep on (spinal/nerve disorder; hence the need for more floor space).
5- The Tribute's 3200 Duratec V-6 may be of marginal use for towing the TT, but it managed to do a fine job during a 10-month, x-country RV trip around our beautiful country. Yes, it only managed 30-35 mph on some of the mountain passes (like Tioga Pass outside of Yosemite), but it did it without ever overheating or having any tranni complaints. It's 3500 lb. towing limit is tight for what I ask it to do, but it's proven itself up to the job.And it's steady as a rock on the highway with my load-distribution system.
Thank you for all of your interest and recommendations.
George
