Casita vs "conventional" small trailers

Casita pros:
Better structural build quality
Good resale
Last forever

Negatives:
High initial price
Good resale (as a buyer)
Appliances are still from the usual suspects
No slides (the amount of space the full depth dinette slide gives our 18' trailer is huge as a percentage)

Yep look in the door and that’s what you get. I’m not a TT guy but if I were looking for a tiny TT the Winnebago Drop would be as small as I’d even think about.

The egg style trailers have some advantages due to their clamshell construction:
- No membrane roof
- no roof seams
- No studs
- No corner seams
- Sealed fiberglass bottoms
- Shines up pretty.
- Better resale value
- Radiused corners for aerodynamics

Some downsides:
- Don't breathe very well for moisture mitigation
- single axle only
- no slides

Lack of a slide makes Casitas a “no go” for me. Can’t sit outside all the time where I camp.

I don't know if it is still true but Casita use to have a waiting list to get a trailer built. Others have covered the +/- and like others have said resale is one of the best.

There's aftermarket support for the Casita as far as upgrades and axles and such.

Oliver is a high end fiberglass small trailer as well and a little bit larger size.

The egg trailers (casita, escape, etc) are very well built. With the molded fiberglass you have less issue of leaks and no delamination. My class C is a molded figerglass and it is still in great shape (44 years old).

One thing to really look at with any small trailer is the tank capacities and the GWR. Some are very limited.

Before I got my FnR trailer, I looked at everything under 21ft. I had decided on the Escape 19ft. It seemed to meet my needs better than any other.

when I was looking at them they had a "neat" 16 IIRC, ft model with small dinette on the side and you could leave the large dinette made up as a bed. you needed to get the roof air, not floor level one to get a full height closet. the bath was better laid out than some others.
I looked at the R POD and it had no hang up closet and the triangle tiny sink was not useable, no vanity space, wet bath.
