I started out without one installed years ago, but that got changed when we came thru AL during a major storm, kept wondering why it was pouring so hard and we were blown all over the place. Came into TX and found out that we had been involved in a tornado. Quick reflection reveals the radio is worthless, what station; your cell is not any good - who do you call, if you can call? I stopped and had a CB installed. I keep ours on, and it has been a help on Interstates when you get the word about a pile-up...quick exit. Once a trucker started talking about a TT who was loosing his tie straps on the back....that be us!!! just my two cents worth, like an insurance policy, there when you need it. Safe travels.
