one on the goldwing, one on the yamaha venture and one in each pickup. Just got a new class b+ and will be getting one for it. Yes still monitor the channels and it is fun to be listening and participating in some of the chatter.
Also have the frs radios for when out hunting to keep in touch with the others and have them in the truck for towing and talking with others who dont have a cb.
At one time they were touted as the best thing going during the cold war. the band was out of the military and not in the normal comm freq's so they would not be as limited as the rest if something happened. Tell ya I think every rv should have one and know how to use. I have tried to tell folks when they have issues with their rigs and there was a issue some years back where folks could not get the attention of an rv guy whose toad had a blown tire and started a forest fire! His response was something to the effect that he just thought everyone was PO'd that he was driving so slow and wouldn't pull over! Forget how much it finally cost him.
