CB radio's anyone?

Do any of you use CB radio's anymore? If so, how has it helped you if any? Just wondering if they are still relevant. I grew up with my father always using one as many of us did who traveled before cell phones and other such technolgy. I bought a cheap one a few years back and had it on my Jeep when we did some trail runs and we talked to each other. Jeep is now sold and I finally got around to installing it in my truck this past week-end. I still need to get a mount for the antenna though.

I know I learned some "colorful language" from dads before one of the parents finally turned the volume down! I am ready wih my dads old radio handle too.
  • This is interesting. Right now_because people on another forum are getting their Cb ready they will be on Channel 13 and they are also getting stickers made up that says RV 13. I think that's what it says, so this will be an interesting. year to see if it happens . That's what I'm reading
  • I use mine when I'm on the highway whether or not I'm pulling I has been helpful with road slow downs, lane closures, accidents...However channel 13 is aka the rv channel and only one time have I ever heard anyone on the channel talking I have had a few contact me on 19 and flipped to another channel to talk but I haven't had the chance to travel in a group to use it in that way.
  • We use it for travel and turn it on if a problem appears.

Then again, we don't even listen to the regular radio while traveling.
