The one time we had electric and it was cold we use a small bathroom heater like in the last post. We put it on the stove where the dogs couldn't get to it snd left it on low all night. We were toasty warm even though it was in the 20s outside.
We have a ceramic cube heater but it's fan is considerably louder. We use the big oil filled heaters here at home but they take up lots of space and are slow to heat up. They do make smaller ones that I would consider if I were full time, they make no noise except for a occasional click.
There are other options such as heated pads for the floor, heat panels that mount on the wall, baseboard type heaters and units that can be mounted in the wall.
