Changing interior (and exterior) bulbs to LED?

To the OP. 1156/1157 are typical exterior bulbs, turn signals and running lights.

The most common incandescent interior bulb is a 921, which draws 18 W:


I replaced mine with cheap Chinese ones, from Dealextreme. Warm white, small 283830 <3 W. A couple of bucks, 1/6 the power draw, maybe slightly less light. There's also one that's a bit brighter, 283831, but it uses twice the power. I'd use all small ones next time.

I haven't had any issues with them, but ordered a few spares, they're cheap enough.
