Good luck getting camper-specific answers from Ford.
What I think about heavy cables connected by straight relay to truck system is that when you have dual batteries in camper depleted to 10V and the relay kicks in - the camper batteries will take truck system down to 10V and kill the computers.
Just to play Devil's Advocate here, you need a FUSE at each end of these heavy cables for safety against a short circuit, anyway. Would those fuses not prevent TOO much current from flowing back to a badly depleted house battery? How realistic is it to think it will pull the engine battery down to 10 volts?
I'm not saying fuses WOULD protect against this, I'm ASKING if they would? When it comes to electricity, I'm afraid I know just enough to be dangerous . . .
