The Smart Charging systems in today's vehicles vehicle know pretty accurately how much energy to required to recharge after the engine starts. That is what is sent to the vehicle battery.
THIS IS INSUFFICIENT TO RE-CHARGE A HOUSE BATTERY BANK !

A fully charges 6 cell "12V" lead acid battery has 2.2V per cell or 13.2V. You are not going to ADD energy until you exceed that voltage. 2.3V per cell is 13.8V.
