Try your test again but drive the truck for about 10 minutes and tell us what the voltage is at the vehicle battery withe engine running and at your house battery bank.
Trojan specifically calls for 14.8V for Bulk Charging, 13.5V for Float Charging, and 16.2V for Equalize Charging.
If your vehicle charging system is supplying a constant 14.2V at the house batteries, you are cooking them !
(Segue - the only multi-stage battery chargers that meet Trojan's specs are ones that allow the end user to adjust the voltages at each stage.)
