charging system problem

The TC charges the batteries when plugged in but when driving it will not charge. I checked with mult meter and plugged in charges at 13.5 but when you start the truck does not charge at all, last year not a problem truck charged the batteries they never went below 12.4 when left all winter, (as mild winter we had here)does anyone know if there is a fused line or fuse at the fuse panel that runs from truck charging the house batteries I also checked the 7 way plug at the back of the truck it indicates power at the plug so that is not a problem.

Thanks for any help

Dave
  • I guess I will have to start pulling stuff apart because I definitely have power charging at the end of the plug that plugs into the TC, it's charging the same as at the battery so at least I've narrowed it down to inside the TC back out to check.

When you checked for 12+ at the 7 pin, did you check the 12- at the cord, or to a chassis item---like the bumper of the truck? It is alo possible you lost the ground-----but if this is the case, the running lights won't work.
  • No I had running lights but problem is solved a inline fuse behind a wall before the inverter had blown. Thanks alot to all who answered, just saved me a trip to the RV place and probably $80 or so as it would have been 1hr minimum for sure and again thanks alot.
