Yes, of course there is a (200A) fuse at both ends! There are also boots over each of the lugs (not shown in photo) to prevent an accidental short ;)
Lots of people use isolators/solenoids, however I chose to use a high current manual disconnect switch mounted inside the camper. It's a highly reliable, low resistance solution that gives me control of when the truck and house batteries are connected (mounted just above the 110Vac outlet in the photo)

Fully & quickly charging a TC's coach batteries is dependent upon a low resistance charge path and proper voltage regulation. With stock wiring your will never fully re-charge a deeply discharged house battery bank (assuming typical driving patterns… e.g. 2-3-4 hours/day).
IMO, 8Ga is the smallest acceptable charge cable size, larger cabling will yield much higher charge rates. Mine are 2ga minimum throughout (0ga from alternator to truck batteries, 2ga from truck batts to camper, 00g a from the TC's bus bar to each house battery)
